Ready for a new engine in your rebuild?

GM’s LS2 engine initially was launched in 1973 in the 455 CID Pontiac V-8 but was revived in the Chevrolet Corvette in 2005. Boasting 6000 RPM, it has roughly 400 foot-pounds of torque and produces 400 horsepower. Compatible with the high-performance LS6 engine, but it has a much-improved torque through the RPM range. The 243 casting heads used on the LS2 engine are the same heads as on the LS6 engine. The LS2 also produces a higher compression. This engine has been used in the Saab 9-7x, Pontiac GTO, Cadillac CTS-V Series, Chevy Trailblazer SS, Chevy SS R and the heart of Americas hotrods the Chevy Corvette. The LS2 engine is a great engine to start any project. NASCAR based the spec engine that is optional in the Camping World Series on the LS2. Having reliability on its side, the LS2 engine would be a great start for a project build. With reasonable modification, you gain substantial benefits in horsepower and torque.
